First Blog Anniversary and a Giveaway
Hello friends! Hope the Holiday left your love tank full and you are enjoying a great start to the New Year. Things have been pretty busy around here, hence you have not heard from em much lately. But, that changes today. And with a BANG!!
Today is the first anniversary of my this little virtual abode and I want to share the joy and happiness with you – my virtual family. I do not know if you ever got a chance to read about how I embarked on this worthwhile journey. But if you have not, you can read all about it here in the About section. This first year has been nothing short of amazing and humbling. The posts on this blog of mine have been read in 149 different countries of the world – which is completely bonkers! I get so many emails and messages appreciating the recipes and the stories of our life that I love to share with you all.
First post ever!
Along with the giveaway, I want to give you a quick snapshot of this first year of The Kitchen Docs. The first ever post that I shared on the blog was Sooji (Rava) ka Hulva. So appropriate – in our culture every beginning is marked with making this hulva or something sweet to offer to the Gods and then be shared with the family. An ode to a new and happy beginning of the kitchen docs.

Most popular post
The most popular recipe on the blog is Ravioli in Creamy Garlic and Spinach sauce. No wonder! This recipe comes together rather quickly and both kids and grown ups enjoy it alike. The added nutrition of spinach is a plus.

Post with most comments
I love it when you all leave comments on the posts, what you liked or did not like; what might work better. If you tried a recipe, how did it go and if your kids and family loved it. This is the bottom line of it all and makes my effort all worth it. You have commented on the Individual Berry Shortcakes the most and I love it. Warm, slightly crisp shortcakes filled with summer berries and topped with whipped cream. yes please. I love that these shortcakes are individual serving size and can be personalized to liking.

Most pinned post
Homemade Granola recipe is the most pinned recipe from the blog. In other words, it is the most popular Kitchendocs recipe on Pinterest. Are you in to pinterest? If so, check us out here, follow and shower some love. No pressure though..lol!

Other stuff
I sometimes write about stuff other than recipes too. One such post that you all loved is the Tools of the trade post. In this post I covered the things that I use and love the most in my kitchen. I am so happy that you found it useful!

Travel
Though I have not written much about some of the travel we undertake as a family or just by me, but this post on our trip to Epcot got lot of your love and attention and I love it. Please let me know in the comments below if you would like to see more travel related posts.

And on the flip side
This recipe of Chili Paneer basically bit the dust. I so not know why, may be because it just did not come to your attention or did not get the same motherly focus from me. But anywho, go show some love to this recipe, will ya? It is a solid one, I promise.

Overall, a pretty solid year! I got to go on the Kansas Farm Food tour, became a Meatless Monday ambassador, several of the kitchen docs’ recipes were featured in special collections, magazines etc. and I got to know you all – my most wonderful readers!
So,to show my most sincere appreciation and love, I have a small giveaway for you. Two of The Kitchen Doc’s lucky readers can win a $50 Amazon gift card. Use the widget below to enter (please read terms and conditions of the giveaway) and good luck. If you want to increase your chances, go checkout my Instagram link on this picture link below and enter there too.

January 27, 2019 at 11:41 pmI am new here, & absolutely love the look of your blog! The recipes are right up my alley & I’m browsing them & saving some to try. Can’t wait for summer so that I can try the fresh sweet corn curry! I also need to try the ravioli in creamy garlic spinach sauce very soon. I don’t have any suggestions yet – so far I think you have a great balance of recipes between savory, sweet, with meat & meatless!
